About Us

Toi o Taraika Arts Wellington exists to amplify the voices of the arts in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. We are a charitable trust that connects, supports, and champions the people and organisations who make our region’s arts sector thrive.

We provide networking opportunities, communication platforms, advocacy, and capability-building forums for our membership base. Our members include individual artists and practitioners, professional arts and heritage organisations, arts service organisations, and education institutions.

As a small trust, our Board members play a hands-on role in driving our key initiatives and setting our strategic direction.

Board Vacancy

We are seeking expressions of interest to join our Board of volunteer trustees.

We view diversity and inclusion as essential to successfully achieving our goals in the long-term and so that we can truly represent all voices of the arts. We are committed to diversifying our governance team and we are actively seeking Māori members to ensure we fully meet our obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We hope to ensure that the full breadth of the arts community is represented and warmly welcome people of all backgrounds, experiences, and stages of their arts careers.

You do not need prior board or governance experience, and we will provide support for those stepping into this space for the first time. What matters most is a strong connection to the arts and cultural sector, whether as an artist, practitioner, organiser, educator, or community advocate.

Board members contribute approximately 3–4 hours per month and attend 8-9 meetings per year, held alternately online or in central Wellington.

How to Apply

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact one of our Co-Chairs Lucy Marinkovich (lucymargaux@gmail.com) or Kirsten Mason (kirsten@kirstenmason.com) for an informal chat, or send your CV and a short expression of interest to info@artswellington.org.nz.

We encourage you to apply even if you’re unsure whether you “tick every box”, as your perspective and experiences are valuable.

Applications close 20 November 2025
