Toi Pōneke Arts Centre is moving to a new home at 3-6 Market Lane, opening June 2026. This building will play a key role in bringing our Ngā Tuapapa Taketake (foundation baselines), Moemoeā (Vision) and Tuakana-Teina Kaupapa to life (read more about these on our home page).
Applications for artist studios, arts offices, and a workshop space in our new building, aligning with our Tuakana-Teina Kaupapa and Aho Tino 2030 Strategy, are now open on 27 August and close at 11.59pm 28 September 2025.
Ngā rā matua | Key Dates
27 August 2025 – Applications open: 9 artist studios, 7 arts offices, 1 workshop space (Market Lane).
28 September 2025 – Applications close.
December 2025 – Applicants notified of outcome (short-listed applicants will be interviewed prior).
May 2026 – Tenants move into Market Lane - date will be confirmed alongside application process.
June 2026 – Market Lane opening ceremony.

2. Look at the building location at 3-6 Market Lane. There will be a walkthrough of the building pre-fit- out available soon.
3. Review the Space requirements (Floor plans and Artist impressions).
4. Review the Tuakana-Teina Narrative Guide.
5. Review the relevant Licence Agreement to understand the terms and conditions. If successful you will have a chance to carry out due diligence before progressing to signing the agreement.
