Nau mai, haere mai. The Performance Arcade announces its open call to artists from Aotearoa and around the world for its 2025 programme of works (21 February to 2 March 2025).

The Performance Arcade is an annual exhibition and festival programme of events located on Wellington Waterfront, with fourteen years of successful presentations from 2011-2024. This event is a unique platform, where artists from across diverse disciplines, backgrounds, and levels of experience gather to share work in a free public event.

Our hybrid gallery/stage architecture is assembled from shipping containers and scaffolding to create a range of covered spaces and outdoor platforms for installation, performance art, sonic art, interactive media, video-art, forums, theatre, dance, social sculpture, and live music. Opening onto the bustling Wellington Waterfront, these sites of encounter engage the public in contemporary art and performance practices outside the familiar constraints of gallery or theatre spaces, experienced by 50-90,000 people each year.

Key priorities for our 2025 programme include:
 

- Celebrating 15 years of the event with a special programme of NZ and international artists

- Appointing works and creative leadership that bring fresh voices to the vision and future of the event
- Up to NZ$5000 available to fund each selected work
