We support the arts sector through strategic investment, advocacy, and co-designed initiatives that respond to community needs and aspirations. Our team works closely with artists, organisations, and funders to ensure creativity thrives across Tāmaki Makaurau.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About the Role

The Creative Catalyst Māori is a pivotal role focused on delivering strategic projects that reflect our values and priorities. You’ll lead the design and implementation of initiatives for Te Manawa that support ngā Toi Māori sector transformation in Tāmaki Makaurau, build strong relationships, and ensure projects are delivered effectively and with impact.

This role requires a balance of strategic thinking, operational coordination, and cultural leadership. You’ll work alongside internal teams and external partners to activate our strategy and respond to the evolving needs of Ringatoi and the Māori creative sector in Tāmaki Makaurau.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development and delivery of strategic initiatives
  • Facilitating engagement and research to inform co-designed solutions
  • Building and maintaining relationships across Te Taumata, Te Manawa whānau, and the wider sector
  • Coordinating resources, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful project execution
  • Supporting impact measurement and reporting
  • Advocating for funding equity and strategic investment
  • Embedding tikanga Māori in all aspects of the work

Ko wai koe | About You

You’re a connector, a strategist, and a champion for creativity. You bring deep knowledge of the Māori creative sector, strong project leadership skills, and a commitment to kaupapa Māori values.

You’ll have:

  • Experience in the arts or creative sector, particularly in policy, advocacy, or project design
  • Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives and manage complex projects
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills
  • A deep understanding of tikanga Māori and its application in creative contexts
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practice and impact measurement

You’re known for:

  • Being organised, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Navigating change with confidence and positivity
