Mō mātou | About Us

Q Theatre is more than a venue- we’re the beating heart of Auckland’s performing arts scene.  Since opening our doors in 2011, we’ve been a place to see unforgettable theatre, dance and music and to enjoy a great night out.

We believe in the power of the performing arts to connect, challenge, and inspire.  Our purpose is to enable the incredible talent of Tāmaki Makaurau and Aotearoa to showcase their story-telling to their communities and beyond.  Our spaces buzz with energy, hosting everything from ground-breaking theatre to dynamic dance and vibrant festivals.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated professional with:

  • Significant experience in fundraising within the not-for-profit sector.
  • A successful track record of securing major gifts, growing individual giving programmes, and acquiring income through trusts and foundations.
  • Strong relationship management skills and a people-first approach.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, campaign development, and donor stewardship.
  • Exceptional communication, organisational, and administration skills.
  • A genuine passion for the arts, preferably with knowledge of New Zealand's cultural landscape.

Ko wai koe | About you

You are a strategic and thoughtful professional with a strong background in fundraising, ideally within the not-for-profit or arts sector. You have a proven track record of developing and delivering successful fundraising strategies, achieving revenue targets, and building meaningful relationships with donors and funders.

You’re an excellent communicator - both written and verbal - with the ability to craft compelling proposals, reports, and donor communications that speak to impact and value. You’re also highly organised, comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines, and attentive to detail, especially when it comes to donor stewardship and administrative processes.

Above all, you’re a people person. You thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy connecting with others, and bring warmth and authenticity to your relationship management. A passion for live performance and a genuine interest in supporting the arts community in Tāmaki Makaurau will help you truly connect with the purpose of Q Theatre’s work.

If you’re motivated by the idea of making a lasting impact on Aotearoa’s contemporary performing arts, we’d love to hear from you.
