What are we looking for?

We are seeking a passionate and organised Kaiwhakahaere Mātauranga | Education Manager to lead and grow Red Leap’s Education Programme.

This is a fixed-term, 12-month contract (January–December 2026), working 24 hours per week, including four weeks of paid annual leave.

This role is pivotal in delivering Red Leap’s vision of nurturing the next generation of theatre makers across Aotearoa and beyond. The Education Manager will lead the promotion, sales, delivery, and evaluation of our Education Programme, building strong relationships with schools, tutors, and communities while ensuring the programme continues to grow locally and internationally.

What you’ll do

You’ll bring energy, initiative, and creativity to:

  • Lead and deliver Red Leap’s Education Programme, including workshops, school performances, and professional development for teachers.
  • Build relationships with schools, educators, and communities across Aotearoa, ensuring Red Leap remains a trusted partner in creative education.
  • Promote and sell education offerings, including school workshops, teacher development programmes, and international workshops.
  • Collaborate with the Artistic Director and General Manager to plan, deliver, and fund education projects.
  • Manage operations, logistics, and communications for all education activities.
  • Develop resources and toolkits to expand Red Leap’s digital education presence nationally and internationally.

What we’re looking for

You’ll thrive in this role if you are:

  • Experienced in arts education, producing, or project management, ideally within the performing arts.
  • Confident in relationship-building with educators, schools, and community groups.
  • Skilled in communication and organisation, with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Experienced in marketing and sales of education programmes or similar initiatives.
  • Passionate about collaboration, creativity, and inclusion in the arts.

Experience in teaching, theatre education, or working with young people is a bonus.

Why join Red Leap?

At Red Leap, we’re a small, tight-knit team with big creative ambition. We value connection, courage, collaboration, transformation, and excellence in everything we do.

As Education Manager, you’ll be a key part of shaping Red Leap’s impact in classrooms, rehearsal rooms, and communities — empowering young people and educators to create, imagine, and transform through theatre.

This is a part-time contract (24 hrs/week) with flexibility and the possibility of future opportunities beyond 2025.
