Storylines* is looking for a new Executive Officer

 

  • Do you love engaging young people with books and reading?  
  • Are you passionate about supporting New Zealand writers and illustrators for children and young adults? 
  • Are you a strategic thinker—able to lead the organisation in its strategic development while strengthening our reputation, and building strong relationships with funders and across New Zealand’s arts and literature sectors? 
  • Can you manage budgets confidently and build Storylines’ financial sustainability through funding and fundraising?  
  • Have you had successful experience raising and managing funds?

The successful candidate will work closely with our Operations Manager, Treasurer and volunteers including the Storylines Trust Board and Friends of Storylines Management Committee to deliver Storylines’ programmes, awards and StoryTours.

 

Role at a glance

 

  • Part-time contractor (approx. 14–16 hrs/week), flexible/remote-friendly (Auckland preferred for meetings).
  • Lead strategy and delivery; secure funding and report on grant funding (including Creative NZ); steward key sector relationships; is organised and can support governance/compliance; and champion Storylines’ profile.
  • Preparing and completing funding grants and 
  • Maintaining relationships with current funders.
