To organise and oversee the production of high quality feature content across the station by planning programming, managing logistics, and working closely with on-air show hosts, producers, and staff.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain the station's relationships within the music industry in Aotearoa and overseas, actively seek to build new relationships with labels, musicians, publicists and distributors.
Train flagship show and specialist host DJs on booking interviews, ensure communications are kept professional and done in a timely manner.
Train DJs to conduct music, arts, and culture interviews where necessary assisting them with briefs, questions and background information.
Work with our News & Editorial Director to technically upskill news department volunteers, correspondents, and producers.
Review pre-recorded interviews for flagship shows before airing, assist hosts in editing and airing features with tight turnarounds, ensure features are of a high-standard in both content and sound quality.
Support, train, and give feedback to hosts on segments, features, and interviews, and help them to develop new feature and segment ideas.
Create and maintain show run sheets for hosts with feature segments or flagship show hosts.
Work with the station’s social media manager to assist in producing content for our social and digital accounts, particularly with sponsored segments and feature content, and ensure that all feature interviews are appropriately promoted online.
Work with the Programme Director, Sales Support Assistant and Events Manager, to collect data and submit monthly and quarterly reports to the General Manager for NZOA, RMNZ, APRA AMCOS NZ, and the Board of Directors.
Maintain an ongoing calendar of interviews and features, and ensure there are no booking crossovers by maintaining clear communication internally and externally.
Manage internal calendars to ensure that content is being appropriately and evenly distributed, where possible, across the station’s programme.
Be the point of contact across shows and hosts to maintain volunteer access to station resources when needed, such as feature segment/interview booking sheets, hardware/gear and studio booking sheet maintenance.
Ensure that our feature interviews accurately reflect the target demographics of our wider audience.
Engage with underrepresented communities in order to produce fresh content that is relevant to our community.
Work with the Programme Director, Breakfast Show Hosts/Producers, and volunteer show hosts to generate innovative ideas for interviews, features, editorial and competitions.
Work with the Programme Director and Events Manager when we book events, ensuring our line ups are in line with the 95bFM’s Kaupapa Pūoro Waiata Aotearoa programming guidelines.
Ensure that the Breakfast and Drive show hosts/producers are podcasting all on-air content, particularly sponsored shows, segments, and featured content, and is uploaded for on-demand playback in a timely manner.
