Milford Galleries is a leading contemporary art dealer with galleries in both Dunedin and Queenstown. Representing many of Aotearoa’s major artists, we work with public institutions, collectors and clients throughout New Zealand and internationally.
We are currently seeking an experienced, passionate and innovative Exhibitions Administrator to join our Dunedin based team. This is a newly established role consolidating a range of functions into one focused position designed to free up capacity across the team and strengthen support for our growing exhibition programme.
This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week) and includes one 4 hour Saturday shift per month.
About the Role
This role sits at the heart of our operations, responsible for delivering our dynamic exhibition programmes across both the Dunedin and Queenstown galleries. From artist liaison and exhibition coordination, to cataloguing incoming artworks, exhibition promotion, and engaging gallery visitors, this is a busy, varied position suited to someone who thrives in a creative environment, enjoys managing multiple projects simultaneously, and takes pride in meticulous organisation.

What You’ll Bring to the Role
We’re looking for someone with experience in a gallery, museum, or similar arts administration role, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a close-knit team. You will confidently navigate a variety of priorities and challenges ensuring that every exhibition, from planning through to opening night, run seamlessly.
You’ll also bring a high level of organisational skill, a proactive mind-set, and a calm, professional approach to busy days.
