Artlink is New Zealand’s premier art storage and logistics company. We are looking for a Fine Art Technician to join our small, dedicated team on a casual basis. The role involves all aspects of art handling, including packing, installation, and transport. You will be working with a broad range of paintings, sculptures, and artefacts ranging from historic to contemporary.  

We are seeking flexibility, strong technical skills, and a professional client-facing approach. Excellent communication skills are essential, a strong interest in NZ art and art history is beneficial.

What You’ll Do

• Safely handle, pack, move, install and de-install artworks of various mediums and sizes
• Record items coming in to Artlink warehouse for storage
• Work well as a team member, with clear communication at all times to ensure best practice and safety of all involved 
• Help load, secure, and unload artworks from company vehicles
• Maintain a tidy, organized, and safe workspace on job sites and in the Artlink Warehouse
• Communicate professionally with clients when on site

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 1–3+ years in art handling, or a museum/gallery environment.
• Technical Savvy: Proficiency with hand and power tools, experience installing artworks, crate building skills a plus.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to safely lift and manage oversize artworks and work comfortably on ladders or scaffolding.
• Character: We are looking for someone reliable with a problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
• Essentials: A clean, valid driver’s licence. You will need to be competent driving a manual transmission vehicle. An HT licence would be a plus.
