We have an exciting opportunity for an experience Kaiwhakahaere Whakaari | Lead Producer to join Te Pou Theatre’s team. We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic producer who loves a fast paced environment, juggling multiple kaupapa and is keen to make an impact on the annual programmes Te Pou delivers. The Kaiwhakahaere Whakaari – Lead Producer plays an integral role in overseeing all aspects of production producing, programmes and community engagement initiatives, with a focus on leading and sharing kaupapa Māori producing practice.
The role also supports Poutoko at the whare to ensure all programmes are running super smoothly including overseeing the Te Pou brand and managing the Communications and Marketing Lead. In addition, the role supports fundraising mahi including help prepare applications relevant to productions and programmes as well as reporting. Over the contract period, the role will support upcoming major funding grants and strategic oversight with a programming lens.
This is a full time, fixed-term maternity leave position for 8-9 months. We’re also open to hearing from people who have the skills and are keen to work part-time and/or project producers.

The Offer: Fixed term Maternity Leave Cover. Full time, part time or project based.
Putea | Salary: Between 70 – 75K pro rata, depending on experience.
Due to the nature of theatrical work, some evening and weekend work will be required.
