The Kaiwhakahaere Whakatairanga -Marketing and Development Manager is responsible for the management and delivery of Massive Company’s Marketing Strategy and Fundraising and Development activities. This role works as part of a small but mighty tīma to ensure that all marketing and fundraising / development activities are carried out appropriate to the Company’s brand and Kaupapa, and within agreed budgets and timeframes.
Key leadership, marketing and fundraising areas of focus for the role:
- Oversee and manage all marketing and fundraising activity
- Working with the GM to set and deliver on appropriate annual marketing and fundraising budgets
- Managing relationships with patrons, sponsors, supporters and stakeholders
Key Accountabilities for Marketing and Brand:
- Manage and deliver to Massive Theatre Company’s Marketing Strategy and Marketing Strategy Work Plan across all company activity, including brand visibility, targeted public engagement towards company events and activities, fundraising and revenue generation activity, any ticketed events (shows)
- Ensure that Massive Theatre Company’s brand strategy is clear, robust and integrated into all company activity and communications
- Develop and maintain guiding documents for Massive Theatre Company brand / tone / kaupapa
- Oversee the implementation of the Massive digital strategy
- Oversee the company CRM and CRM communications platform
Key Accountabilities for Development and Fundraising:
- Create, deliver and regularly review a strong fundraising message profile based on Massive’s strategy, Kaupapa and overall brand and marketing guidelines
- Implement and manage Massive Theatre Company’s donations programme (via Donorbox)
- Develop and implement fundraising initiatives and campaigns to meet fundraising targets
- Create pitch documents for potential sponsors / donors as required
- Identify new opportunities for revenue generation and for the diversification of Massive’s revenue streams
Experience and Attributes:
- Exceptional people skills with the ability to work within a team and independently when necessary
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with CRMs and CRM communication systems
- Knowledge and experience working on digital channels (Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, Canva)
- Knowledge of Google Analytics / GA4
- Experience managing brand strategy and marketing campaigns across a wide range of media, marketing channels and for varied audiences
- Stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Experience in analysing data/results and being pro-active/re-active with information
- Fundraising / donor management experience
- Must be a NZ citizen, NZ permanent resident or hold a valid NZ work permit

This role is a 30 hour/week contract role starting at $60,480 gross annual (equiv $80,640 FTE).
