We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kaiwhakarite Pūtea Pākahi - Business Co-ordinator to join our team at Taki Rua Productions Society Incorporated. This full-time role, based in Wellington CBD, Wellington, will be responsible for managing the finance and business components to support the productions and operations of Taki Rua. Through this work the Kaiwhakarite Pūtea Pākahi - Finance and Business Coordinator upholds and extends the strength and effectiveness of Taki Rua, a leading Māori theatre company in Aotearoa.

 

What you'll be doing

 

  • Manage all financial aspects of the organisation, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Raise invoices and payments; manage leases, subscriptions and insurance
  • Develop and maintain organisational policies and procedures, including Health & Safety
  • Oversee management of Taki Rua I.T, including care of computer systems and maintenance
  • Manage the accomodation operations of our base, Te Haukāinga; office/space bookings, rentals and invoicing
  • Manage and develop the administrative and operational staff, including payroll
  • Coordinate show bookings, invoicing for shows and point of contact for all show bookings
  • Work with a small, experienced, agile team of theatre professionals
  • Support the Tumu Whakarae in preparation of reports for Board Meetings

 

What we're looking for

 

  • Experience in a  business management or operations role, preferably within the Arts industry
  • Proficiency with Xero, HubDoc and Smartly payroll (or similar)
  • Strong financial management skills, with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and project management abilities
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Tertiary qualification in business, finance, or a related field is highly desirable
  • Committed to the kaupapa of Taki Rua and competency in te reo Māori and tikanga processes
