Applications are welcomed for a 12 month award, valued at $60,000 NZD (for 2026) to support an emerging artist (specifically, a painter or sculptor) showing promise. Preference may be given to artists based in Canterbury or with an artistic connection to Canterbury.
- This Award is made biennially (once every two years).
- Applications are open 5 May - 27 June 2025.
- Outcomes are likely to be available in late September 2025.
- Applicants must meet the following basic criteria to apply:
- Must be an emerging painter or sculptor
- Must be a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent New Zealand Resident who has resided in New Zealand for a minimum of five years.
