The Theatre In Health Education Trust is looking to audition facilitators/performers for the 2026 Tour of their sexual health theatre programme Sexwise. This tour marks the 37th year of the Sexwise programme, educating, starting conversations and creating better health outcomes for rangatahi.

Auditions will be held in Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland between the 6th and 9th of November this year.

Every year we seek performers who are committed to making quality theatre, who can think on their feet, and approach our subject matter in a self-assured, open and non-judgemental way. You will need to be secure with your own sexuality and totally accepting of others with a different sexual orientation, culture or religion from your own.

Expectations of Performer-Facilitators

  • Warm-hearted, open, engaging and confident in relating to rangatahi with differing values, backgrounds and cultures.
  • Communicating openly, in a non-judgmental and accepting manner.
  • Self-motivated, generous, disciplined, and adaptable.
  • Co-operative, collaborative and ready to take and give constructive criticism.
  • Thrives in a close team environment.

Our facilitators receive a living wage, plus daily per diem while away from home during the tour. We provide comfortable private accommodation for each facilitator with kitchen and laundry amenities throughout the tour, plus:

  • No programme delivery or travel on weekends.
  • School and public holidays off with ongoing per diem payments.
  • Return flights home covered for school holidays.
  • On-call support available, including counselling.
  • Scholarships available to support further education of past and present facilitators.

If you would like to audition to tour with us in 2026 make sure that you fill out the following audition form. If you are unable to make it to an audition in a major centre, we still encourage you to apply!
