A Pettman DARE Fellowship provides a 12-month, fully-funded programme, split between Leeds in the UK and Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand. As a Pettman DARE Fellow you are registered as a taught postgraduate student at the University of Leeds, studying towards a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Performing Arts Education and applied research in Music Education and Community Engagement.

 

The programme runs September 2025 – August 2026. 

 

The first nine months are spent in the Learning & Engagement department at Opera North and at the University of Leeds UK, before spending the final three months at New Zealand Opera.
