95bFM is the biggest independent broadcaster in the country and we're the oldest student radio station in Aotearoa, New Zealand. For over 55 years, 95bFM has become an icon of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s cultural scene and is a national leader in music, news, independent media and culture.

None of that could happen without a dedicated sales team, who sell advertising and sponsorships, constantly striving to increase 95bFM’s success, and maintain our place as the best radio station in the world. We're looking for an enthusiastic sales champion to join our sales team - someone who is excited and inspired by the creativity and originality at the heart of 95bFM, and importantly - someone who knows how to communicate to clients what it is that sets us apart from everyone else.

 

PURPOSE:

  • To actively service 95bFM's clients, sponsors, and commercial advertisers and to facilitate their campaigns across the station on-air and online.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Sales Revenue: Actively prospect for securing new business, and to meet and exceed monthly commercial revenue targets 

 

  • Sales Administration: Be able to learn and administer campaigns and acounts through the station's internal practices, CRM, and databases.

 

  • Client Management: Service station client accounts, to stay connected with our advertisers and be the conduit into the station for the station's commercial advertisers, sponsors, and clients. Maintain and develop customer files with up-to-date information on campaigns, customer contacts and other relevant details.

 

  • Campaign Management: Ensure our clients receive the delivery of services contracted for on time and as promised.

 

  • Accounts Receivable: Work with the General Manager, bookkeeper, and accounts team.

 

  • Team Work: Cooperate as a team member to meet 95bFM objectives, collaborate and maintain effective liaison with other departments within the station, undertake any training and development as directed, and any other tasks and assignments, as may be required from time to time.
     

ABOUT YOU:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing
  • Sharp organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to meet budgeted targets and set deadlines
  • Demonstrate strong prospecting and client serviceability
  • Have an understanding of CRM software and databases
  • Have an understanding that what you are selling is more than just radio; that 95bFM is a mindset that can extend across digital platforms, events, and things we haven’t even thought of yet.
     

HOURS:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday

 

REMUNERATION:

  • Base salary: $52,000 PA ($25.00 per hour)
  • Tiered commission and bonuses for exceeding targets and securing new business
  • Residual commission for returning clients' renewals and on-going business
