Taki Rua Productions are looking for a costume designer and a set designer for our 2025 tour of
“Rere Atu Taku Poi!”
Candidates may apply for one or both positions. Set requirements are minimal and must be tourable, some prop making and design as also required. Costumes are for three actors and are mainly contemporary.
Experience in working to a brief, a collaborative nature, and knowledge of tikanga is essential.
Role is for an immediate start in Wellington and for a set fee.
Fee to be discussed based on experience.
“Rere Atu Taku Poi!” is the world premiere of the play by Bea Joblin based on the book by Tangaroa Paul and will be touring to kura nationally from July to September.
‘Rangi loves doing haka but performing poi is his favourite - even though his classmates say it's just for girls. When the lead poi performer falls sick before a school performance, Rangi has to take her place. How will the other students and audience react - 'Surely a boy can't lead the poi?'
