Southland Art Foundation – William Hodges Fellowship Residency 2025 Expression of Interest

The Southland Art Foundation invites Expressions of Interest from visual artists for the 2025 William Hodges Fellowship Residency in Invercargill, Murihiku Southland. This unique opportunity invites artists to live and work in Southland for a 12-week period, engaging with the region and its communities, and producing a body of work that culminates in a public exhibition and a contribution to the SAF Collection.

The William Hodges Fellowship Residency offers a modest stipend and contribution towards costs in addition to accommodation, community connections and manaakitanga. Further detail will be available to shortlisted artists.

Applicants shortlisted from the Expressions of Interest will be invited to submit a full proposal. The selection panel will then select the 2025 William Hodges Fellow.

The 2025 Fellowship is supported by the Invercargill City Council Community Wellbeing Fund, Community Trust South, the ILT Foundation, the Southern Institute of Technology and ICC Creative Communities. We also acknowledge our collaborative partners, He Waka Tuia and Mīharo.
