2006 Creative Places Awards were presented by Creative New Zealand at the Local Government New Zealand Conference in Wellington

The Creative Places Awards recognises local government's vital investment in the arts of New Zealand. They also celebrate innovative arts projects that have enhanced the social, economic and cultural wellbeing of their communities.

The Creative Places Awards recognises local government's vital investment in the arts of New Zealand. They also celebrate innovative arts projects that have enhanced the social, economic and cultural wellbeing of their communities.

The Premier Creative Places Award is chosen from the District and City Council winners in the following four categories:

  • Arts Provision
  • Built Environment
  • Cultural Festivals and Arts Events
  • Commissions and Public Artworks

    Hastings District Council for Hastings Blossom Festival, 2005

    The Premier Award went to Wellington City Council for Sculpture Duo and Liz Civil, Team Leader Arts Planning, Auckland City Council was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award.
