The Wellington 48Hours film competition blog is back for 2014.
Ex-competitor Vanessa Patea (part of the 2014 Grand Champions team Traces of Nut) and her team of photographers and bloggers will be following film-makers as they make their short films over 48 hours this weekend.
They will be present at the start line to see the teams' faces as their genre and elements are announced, and at the finish line to see the excitement (or disappointment) as the deadline closes in. They will visit a bunch of teams in their interesting locations on Saturday, and in post production on Sunday - will take photos and write observations over the weekend along with photos sent in my competitors.
"We have had a great time in previous years," says Vanessa.
"We visited an actor getting the prop (leaf) tattooed on his body, we visited a house surrounded by smashed apples, we saw people gyrating in the bucket fountain, we visited Scotts College, who were many and Marae styles camping out at school over the weekend, we saw an elaborate puppet show with a green screen, we witnessed a strange team of scientists in a brewery and many more weird and wonderful observations!"
She says they are excited about the weekend and the opportunity to visit all the teams in the various locations and to see what everyone is up to. "The good news is that due to daylight savings this year, teams have an extra hour – we will be asking teams 'what do you plan to do with this extra hour?'"
