Their mission is to help New Zealand companies make world class design a bigger differentiator for their products and services in export markets.
They believe that no matter where you are in the world, design is increasingly the X-factor that takes a business from "also ran" to "market star". It's time for design to make more New Zealand companies into international stars.

It is a programme that takes the best of the design strategy and translates it into practical assistance to business, a web-based community and a major international design-led business conference. The conference, scheduled for 29-31 March 2005, will help New Zealand companies transform themselves into world-class design-led exporting businesses.

Better by Design is being overseen by an independent group of design-led business experts, the Better by Design Advisory Board, and the programme is administered by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
