The Producer Laura Von Batenburg says “ the project started off as a small idea that has turned into a hit”. Lauren found a graduate from South Seas photography course, Ida Larsson who was extremely passionate about the project from the beginning and ended up doing all 13 shoots for free.
Krystal Kitto also volunteered to do all the hair and makeup which was 1950s style. Once all the pre prod was done Laura and Lauren went to CUBE printing who will be printing over 300 calendars all to be sold at $15 each. The shoots took place over several weekends.
One of the girls Catherine Zimmerman said. “It was weird at first being naked with fellow students but once you got into it, it was a lot of fun.”
Lauren said that’s she had had so much support from everyone at school and her fellow WIFT (Women in Film and Television) interns. The calendar is being sponsored by many companies in the film industry one of these is Panavision.
The calendars will be available for purchase on the SouthSeas website www.southseas.co.nz or call Lauren on 0211575824.
