The Christchurch Cultural Hub has been created as an online space for the creative, sporting and heritage communities in Christchurch to connect, share information and swap resources.
The page has been created with the intention that Christchurch's creative population - artists, musicians, sportspeople, actors, curators etc. will contribute ideas, practical advice and exchange goods and skills on the site to help facilitate the return to a healthy cultural life for Christchurch.
Manatu Taonga - Ministry for Culture and Heritage has established the Facebook page as a place for the creative and sporting communities to get together and support each other during the recovery from February's earthquake.
Working with Manatu Taonga and updating the page with new information are: Creative New Zealand, Historic Places Trust, Sport Canterbury, New Zealand on Air, Te Papa, The Big Idea and the Christchurch Art Gallery.
The kinds of information found on the page ranges from advice for art owners wanting to conserve damaged works, to ways to connect with local sporting communities to updates from cultural institutions and funding information.
If you don’t have a Facebook account and have an idea, news or something to share email info@mch.govt.nz and Manatu Taonga will post it for you.
The Ministry’s website is also updated regularly with information about the sector, visit http://www.mch.govt.nz/news-events/christchurch-earthquake
