The closure will give the gallery team plenty of time to focus on the lead up to its next big exhibition, celebrated New Zealand photographer Fiona Pardington’s largest and most comprehensive show to date. The exhibition, A Beautiful Hesitation, will feature over 100 photographs spanning three decades of work.

Fiona Pardington: A Beautiful Hesitation opens on Saturday 22 August with an exhibition tour at 3pm that day. For more information and a full programme of other events around the exhibition. Entry to City Gallery is free.

Nikau Cafe is unaffected by the closure and will remain open throughout. The closure period  will also not affect other Civic Square Council facilities. Similar scheduled maintenance and closures are booked in for other times.

City Gallery Wellington is managed by the Wellington Museums Trust with major funding from Wellington City Council.
