The Design and Arts College will help kickstart the fashion and beauty season in Christchurch wit

The Design and Arts College of New Zealand (D&A) have two unique exhibitions coming up in October. Both exhibitions open prior to Cup and Show Week in order to kick start the fashion and beauty season by offering inspiration and ideas.

D&A’s Makeup Design and Production students graduating exhibition ‘Blood, Sweat & Lipstick’ opens on Wednesday 6 October, followed by the department of Fashion Design’s Millinery exhibition ‘Adorn’ on Friday 22 October.

Blood, Sweat & Lipstick promises to be an exhibition with a twist, showcasing the work of 21 talented Makeup Design and Production students. Work will include beauty and period makeup, as well as prosthetics, airbrushing, body art and more! The exhibition opens at 5.30pm with a short display of live creations beginning at 6pm.

Adorn will showcase hats, fascinators and clips from Fashion Design students. This exhibition is the perfect opportunity to come along and find that special something to complete a look, or find that stand out hat.

Both exhibitions open are open to the public and will be held in D&A’s Ground Floor Gallery, 116 Worcester St, Christchurch.
