Modulorbeat is the German-based practice of Marc Günnewig and Jan Kampshoff, and is best known for temporary buildings such as the Switch + information centre, a temporary booth designed for an outdoor sculpture exhibition in Münster in 2007 and Kubik, in which 1000 - litre water tanks were used to create a itinerant night club.

Modulorbeat - ambitious urbanists & planners is a young, innovative design studio based in Münster, Germany. The multiple award winning team is dedicated to the development and realization of interdisciplinary projects in the fields of architecture, design and urbanism.

The University of Auckland and the Goethe-Institut invited Modulorbeat to New Zealand to hold lectures as well as conduct a design workshop at the National Institute of Creative Arts and Industries.

The workshop will explore the relationship of sound(art), space & architecture in the urban context of Auckland City.

Within three focused workshop phases (rec/prog/play) sound data will be captured & critically investigated. The final outcomes will be an interactive installation format which will be exhibited during the 2009 Auckland Architecture Week.
