Earlier this year the $60,000 Prize in Modern Letters was awarded to Northland doctor and poet Glenn Colquhoun. Colquhoun was the unanimous choice of the three American judges, Sandra Cisneros, Douglas Unger, and Geoffrey Wolff. 'Glenn Colquhoun makes poems in the great tradition of doctor-writers who exploit the healing properties of passionate and precise language to bind the world's wounds.
