Have you ever seen a joystick orchestra? Well here’s your chance!
Have you ever seen a joystick orchestra? Well here’s your chance! As part of the festivities for the 2011 Rugby World Cup, the joysticks orchestra from the project NOP.nz (New Orchestra Practices in New Zealand) managed by Frenchwoman Nolwenn Hugain-Lacire, will perform one concert only in Auckland at 8.30pm on September 23 alongside French electronic group PUCE MUSE in the HP Centre (on Auckland’s Waterfront). Don’t miss this explosive audio and visual experience!
This group will be made up entirely of artists and musical enthusiasts from Auckland who have shown their interest in being part of a truly unique experience! The locals will use a multimedia device called Meta-Mallette connected to joysticks to create music and images.
The aim of NOP.nz, a French-New Zealand cultural project, is to experiment with innovative orchestral practises. The initiative was created with the view of bringing together different people, musicians or amateurs, of any age or skill level. The orchestra performs French audio and visual compositions and invites New Zealand artists to create new pieces in order to encourage exchange and dialogue between people of the two cultures.
