A series of music salons featuring Canadian singer-songwriter Jane Siberry in Wellington, from 2 - 5 February '10.

These special evenings will feature an intimate performance by Jane Siberry on guitar (and possibly keyboard).  If you have never seen Jane Siberry perform, she is one of those rare artists who can crack brains, break hearts and lift spirits at the same time.

This is a unique opportunity to experience the generosity of an extraordinary artist in an unconventional setting.  (Examples of her work abound - see http://www.janesiberry.com for more - but a particularly good one is the video below.)

“In her songs not only lovers but also waitresses, cubicle workers, problem teenagers and total strangers deserve random acts of kindness. She sees obstacles and human failings, but for the length of a song, with subtly climbing harmonies and her ever-encouraging voice, she insists it’s possible to rise above them.”
– The New York Times

“Jane Siberry's only New Zealand gig was stunning - perhaps the most extraordinary solo performance you could ever see.”
– Real Groove Magazine

“Anyone familiar with Siberry's records will know that her abstract songs and sonic landscapes already possess an almost filmic quality, capable of suggesting movies in the listener's mind.”
– Nick Bollinger, Real Groove Magazine
