Sixty-five talented artists, from as far away as Invercargill, are coming to Auckland to exhibit their original NZ Art at the annual Kumeu Art in the Garden event which runs on October 29 and 30.

Sixty-five talented artists, from as far away as Invercargill, are coming to Auckland to exhibit their original NZ Art at the annual Kumeu Art in the Garden event which runs on October 29 and 30.

Kumeu Art in the Garden is a two day festival showcasing four spectacular, award winning, gardens with hundreds of original artworks. All of these artworks are available for purchase by event visitors.

This event is now in its third year and has seen 1000’s of visitors enjoying Kumeu’s top gardens also includes music and food in every garden. Event Director and Festival Founder, Graham McIntyre, encourages visitors to bring a picnic lunch and settle in for a relaxing afternoon.

“We have created an international event that raises awareness of the region, the artists and the creativity that flourishes in the area in some amazing garden galleries. It’s magic to see the interaction between the garden lovers and art enthusiasts” says Graham McIntyre. “It’s a charity event with profits benefitting local community groups such as West Auckland Hospice”

The NZ Art Guild organises the artists each year for this event and is a nationwide organisation that promotes and supports New Zealand artists. NZ Art Guild Executive Director, Sophia Elise, says the “Kumeu Art in the Garden is a great opportunity for artists to showcase their art in a unique environment. Artists have the opportunity to talk to the public about their artworks, demonstrate how they create them and also meet other artists.”

“Artists come from all over New Zealand to be involved with this event and exhibit a diverse range of artworks including sculpture, mosaic, Jewellery, photography, painting, sand art, textiles, ceramics and glass art.”

Kumeu Art in the Garden is a community event which sees proceeds donated to local charities, including the West Auckland Hospice and Kumeu Volunteer Fire.

Tickets for the two-day festival are $20 adults, $10 children (5+) Children under 5 are free.
