As part of the inaugural Matakana Winter Film Festival, the 1928 New Zealand silent movie The Bush Cinderella is being shown with piano accompaniment from John Gibson.As part of the inaugural Matakana Winter Film Festival, the 1928 New Zealand silent movie The Bush Cinderella is being shown with piano accompaniment from John Gibson.The film comes from the New Zealand Film Archive and is a melodrama set in the bush north of Auckland. It also includes high seas adventure on the Waitemata harbour and a race up Queen Street in Auckland.
John Gibson is a pianist and composer whose works cover a wide range of genre from music for children's TV to working with the NZ Opera. His exceptional talent will add to the drama of the film to put together a truly memorable performance.
When: Sunday 16 September 8pm; Monday 17 September at 2pm and 6pm.
