This charity fundraiser represents an impressive collaboration between local artists, suppliers, promoters, Vodafone NZ Ltd, the Vodafone New Zealand Foundation and music industry organisations such as the NZ Music Industry Commission (NZMIC), the Recording Industry Association of NZ (RIANZ), the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) and Independent Music NZ (IMNZ).
"The effectiveness of music and musicians in fundraising and the support of worthwhile causes is an international phenomenon. The New Zealand Music Industry Commission, as I'm sure our musical community at large, is very pleased to be able to offer support to this extremely worthwhile initiative."
- Richard Thorne, Chairman, NZ Music Industry Commission
Many New Zealanders have already donated to the cause. However, there is still a considerable need for on-going support as the relief effort moves into the medium and long-term phases to provide key infrastructure such as sanitation, water, housing and schools.
Profits from Live At The Springs will be distributed to UNICEF and the NZ Red Cross to help fund their relief efforts in affected areas.
