The collection | "Call Me Princess, My Daddy Says So"
Dip dyeing, tie dyeing, paisley prints and silk, denim, knits, chiffon and beautifully draped jersey, the crowd obviously loved this show, cheering and shouting as Jaeha took his bow. Set in beautiful St Matthews-in-the-City it was an inspirational way to start the day and a stunning debut collection. Looming eerily tall, in their high platforms, Jaeha's models were draped in beautiful silky fabrics but no part of the body was ignored. Stand out details were the customised Doc Martens, jeweled and fringed.
Background Jaeha is experimental with a touch of futuristic flair - directional and refreshing, exploring new shapes and styles. Established in 2006, the first collection by designer Jaeha-Alex Kim was shown on the Air New Zealand Fashion Week catwalk in 2007 as part of the AUT Rookie Show as Kim was still to graduate. He is the first student ever to have orders straight off the catwalk.
Being there What a way to start the day, beautiful St Matthews-in-the-City and an early morning start and a great turnout. People were unanimous in their praise of this collection and wonderful to see Jaeha get so much support.
