Journos can't help but invoke the Rolling Stones when they write about the Checks - maybe it's their snake-hipped, louche charm, maybe it's singer Ed Knowles's frenetic dancing or maybe it's the swaggering, bluesy, guitar-driven rock'n'roll that they play as if they were born to it. Whatever it is, they don't see the resemblance themselves, though they're not complaining.
