The 2005 Date Palm Film Festival is a festival dedicated to providing you with a unique opportunity to view films from the 'Date Palm region', stretching from Morocco to Iran - a region often misunderstood and misrepresented. We aim to bridge a gap through artistic expression and share the experience of history, humanity, love, and life in a time where the distance between Eastern and Western cultures ever expands.

Wellington 8-14 September at The Paramount
Christchurch 15-22 September at The Regent on Worcester

This year's programme includes five feature and three documentary films from Morocco, Egypt, Palestine, Iran, Iraq & USA - comedy, classical, social issue and political themes. The majority of these films are recent award winning productions and are unlikely to come back to mainstream cinema, New Zealand television or your local video shop so make the most of it!

Festival details of films and screenings are now on our website at www.meff.org.nz
