The Design and Arts College of New Zealand (D&A) Fine Arts department are currently preparing for their third year students graduate exhibition Convergence.

The well awaited exhibition will be opening on Tuesday 11 May at 5.30pm in D&A’s ground floor gallery space, and mezzanine, 116 Worcester Street, Christchurch.

Convergence boasts an extensive range of innovative work from 26 third year students, including painting, sculpture, 3D, photography, graphic design, print media, drawing and fibre art.

Each student will be exhibiting works from a self-directed brief, encouraging independence and self direction, a must for an industry based career.

Exhibitions are very important for students as it gives them much needed experience of working within the industry.

The graduating class were to come up with a concept and a name for their exhibition; this year the students chose ‘Convergence’, alluding to the diverse range of works culminating into one exhibition.

Convergence is open to the public and will be running from opening night Tuesday 11 May (5.30-7pm) until Wednesday 26 May, 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.
