The Intricate Art of Actually Caring, which premiered in Eli Kent's bedroom during the NZ Fringe Festival in February, continues its journey as part of the Christchurch Arts Festival in July.

Join Eli and Jack as Jack spins you a yarn from the comfort of Eli's bedroom. Two boys, hanging out, drinking beers, riffing on Star Trek, music and girls. The death of their friend sparks a journey to Jerusalem, and the bedroom becomes a car, the North Island, and James K. Baxter's grave.

It’s a comedy about apathy, a slacker road trip story, a journey of joyous pessimism.

The Intricate Art of Actually Caring premiered in February 2009 with a three week sell-out season in Eli’s bedroom as part of the NZ Fringe Festival 2009, where it won 'Best Theatre” and was nominated for “Best of the Fringe” and “Best Production Design”. It went on to a highly successful season at Downstage Theatre as part of the "Pick of the Fringe".
