However, Kelly has sent the longest Christmas wishlist that Santa has ever seen, so Santa flies Kelly to the North Pole so she can learn for herself the true meaning of Christmas.
The Santa Claus Show features Tim Raby returning for his fifth season as Santa, with Louise Harris as Kelly and Sam Berkley making a return as Elfie.
Tim Bray wrote the show 16 years ago and named the two little girls in the play after his two nieces, Kelly and Alana. The play has become a Christmas tradition for Tim's production company and he says he is delighted at the number of people who return each year to enjoy a touch of Christmas magic.
"I was very lucky to grow up in a family where Christmas was special and magical. I love revisiting those memories when it is performed," Tim says.
Also featuring in the 2008 season of The Santa Claus Show is Te Kaea Beri as Alana, Fiona Collins, Chantelle Gerrard, Ash Jones and Oriel and Eldon Siketi.
The Santa Claus Show is the fourth in a series of professional children's theatre productions presented by Tim Bray Productions in 2008 and follows successful seasons of The Twits, The Owl and The Pussy Cat and The Dragon of an Ordinary Family. Also in 2008, Tim Bray Productions took Pippi Longstocking to theatres in Western Springs, Howick and Papakura.
