It's noisy sometimes and the grit gets into our computer keyboards, but we still survive as Wellington central's community venue! Thistle Hall is a vibrant community venue so why not familiarise yourself with the place.

It's noisy sometimes and the grit gets into our computer keyboards, but we still survive as Wellington central's community venue! Thistle Hall is a vibrant community venue so why not familiarise yourself with the place.

We are celebrating by hosting a cheap and choice art sale just in time for Christmas. The $100 art sale is a fundraiser to enable us to continue to provide an amazing community gallery space and buy new lights. Our gallery has been running since it was refurbished in 2002 and has had many successful shows, and we are currently booked solid until December 2006.

The $100 Art Sale 'showing art in a good light' will kick off at 6pm on Friday December 9th. Come and put your money down - $100 (cash only) for outright sale, or pieces may be quietly tendered for by penning a note and placing it in an old kauri ballot box, to be counted up at the end. In some instances artists have donated work outright rather than opting to reclaim it if not sold for $100. Anything not sold on that night will be available at the gallery on Saturday December 10th from 11am - 6pm.

It's also our Thistle Hall Christmas party, so come along for some bubbly and nibbles and meet our new coordinator Lily Chalmers, who has recently returned from Japan, and is excited about getting back into the grassroots.
We would like to raise a glass to all the artists who have donated to the art sale, the feedback and contributions have been outstanding!

So come on down, support Thistle Hall, support the artists, treat yourself to something beautiful to brighten up your life and share the Christmas Cheer!
