The arts hungry public of Whanganui will be well satisfied by the feast of events served up by Whanganui UCOL’s art, design and fashion students during November.

The arts hungry public of Whanganui will be well satisfied by the feast of events served up by Whanganui UCOL’s art, design and fashion students during November.

The annual Artrageous arts festival includes no fewer than twelve exhibitions, on and around the Matapihi ki te Ao campus.

The month-long festival showcases work by students graduating from creative programmes at Whanganui UCOL, including the award winning Quay School of the Arts, the School of Fashion and the School of Design.

The exhibitions feature fine arts, glass, computer graphic design and a spectacular graduation fashion show at the Royal Opera House.

3 Ladders: From Sunday 6 November

Works by Bachelor of Fine Arts graduands will be displayed in the Edith Gallery and Block C venues at the Whanganui UCOL campus.

 

Sideways Here We Come: From Sunday 6 November

The 3rd year Bachelor of Fine Arts students’ exhibition will take place in C.2.08.

 

Third and Foremost: From Sunday 6 November

Graduands of the Diploma in Glass Design and Production showcase their works at the Federal Gallery.

 

CAD-tastic: From Tuesday 15 November

An exhibition of works created by Certificate in Art and Design students.

 

Skirt Chaser: Friday 18 November

The Whanganui UCOL School of Fashion students will have their time in the spotlight at their end of year show on Friday 18 November at the Royal Opera House.

 

Form Deform Reform: From Tuesday 15 November

Whanganui School of Design students completing Bachelor of Computer Graphic Design with Honours and Bachelor of Computer Design will hold their exhibition at iSite Wanganui on Taupo Quay.

The month long celebration of graduate talent will also include exhibitions by other students studying creative programmes at Whanganui UCOL.

Artrageous brochures with full listings, including viewing hours, are available from iSite Wanganui, cafes around town and the UCOL information Centres.

People wanting to learn more about Whanganui UCOL’s creative programmes are urged to come along to the information and enrolment session on Wednesday 2 November from 4.00pm – 6.00pm at the Rutland Street campus.
