Waikato Museum, Te Whare Taonga o Waikato aims to be the best regional museum in New Zealand. 

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Registrar with proven leadership experience to join the Waikato Museum. You would be responsible for overseeing and providing day-to-day care of the collections and exhibitions.  This will include maintaining and creating collection records, organising inwards/outwards movements of objects and associated documentation, and to oversee the installation/deinstallation of exhibition objects.

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following

  • Proven people leadership experience
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role in a Museum, Art Gallery or similar environment
  • Working knowledge and experience of Vernon
  • Experience in maintenance and record keeping of museum or similar collections including maintenance, are and inventory
  • Knowledge of preventative conservation techniques
