The New Zealand Film Commission is a Crown entity that invests in the growth, prosperity and promotion of New Zealand’s film industry and its film makers.

The Chief Executive will provide inspiring leadership to the Commission and to the New Zealand film industry. This will involve leading a high-performing team, extending engagement with the sector and government, advocating for and promoting the film industry and its film makers offshore and domestically, and nurturing industry talent in New Zealand.

Candidates for this high-profile position must have proven experience in a substantial senior leadership role. You, as Chief Executive, will be commercially minded, strategic in your approach and understand investment, sector development, distribution, audiences and marketing in a creative industries context. You will be well-connected across the film sector. A background in film production will be of particular value. You must be a person who influences easily and who is credible with sector and key government stakeholders and diverse international cultures, including China. An understanding of the film development opportunities for Maori is also important.

This is an outstanding opportunity to lead and enhance the organisation, telling New Zealand’s stories through the medium of film and making a significant contribution to New Zealand Inc.
