With a mission of ‘changing lives from the stage’, National Youth Theatre is New Zealand’s premier musical theatre training programme for young people aged 7-21.   Within an inclusive and supportive atmosphere, professional theatre mentors deliver exceptional performance adventures and inspirational life experiences, fostering confidence and developing skills for future well-being and success.

Our voluntary Board of Trustees provides strategic direction for the organisation and ensures sufficient resourcing and support to management to deliver to our NYT mission.

IDEAL APPLICANT DESCRIPTION

As we grow and strengthen our capability to ensure strong governance and stewardship of NYT into the future, we invite applications from individuals with interest and expertise to align with and contribute to our vision.

Diversity of background and knowledge is valued among our Trustees, recognising the impact of shared knowledge and best practice from differing sectors and functions.  Candidates will ideally have previous governance experience or a combination of relevant expertise across strategic leadership, marketing/grants exposure and financial acumen.  Interest in and commitment to our purpose of developing the aspirations and potential of young people will bring mutual benefit.

How to apply

We look forward to discussing with you the commitment, opportunities and rewards as a voluntary Trustee, helping to shape the future of our young people and our organisation.
