Attracting in excess of 55,000 people each year, the Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival has been Waikato's premier annual arts event for well over 20 years. Using predominantly the unique performance platform of the international award winning Hamilton Gardens (plus key venues in the Hamilton City CBD), HGAF is a truly magical experience for artists and audience alike.

The 2021 festival was our 24th event, and featured artists such as Tami Neilson, Ria Hall, New Zealand Opera, Blackbox Theatre, Hurihuri and more.

Our next festival is scheduled for 19-27th of Feb next year and we couldn’t be more excited to hear from you!

We are looking for ideas, proposals and performances from any individuals or companies that believe they may have something unique to bring to our audiences. We are particularly interested in potential site specific performances relevant to the uniqueness of our venues.

Work should be either suitable for an outdoor setting, or our intimate, indoor, cabaret space, Harkness Henry’s Emporium of Scintillating Wonders. There may also be options to present work at other venues throughout the city or wider region; we want each festival show to be in the best possible location for it, so let’s talk about what supports each event best.
Submissions will be open until 28th June.

We will be reviewing all applications in due course and will endeavour to get back to you at earliest convenience.
