The New Zealand School of Dance is one of the Southern Hemisphere’s leading tertiary dance training institutions, preparing students for professional careers in classical ballet and contemporary dance. We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager to head a small, enthusiastic team. This is a full-time position based in Wellington, which reports to the Director of the School.
Our ideal candidate is an energetic and creative self-starter who is able to lead the marketing and communications of the School, and co-ordinate fundraising with the Development Manager. Ideally you would have a tertiary qualification, preferably in Marketing or Communications, or relevant work experience. A keen interest in dance or the performing arts would help immensely.
We expect that you will possess excellent oral and written communication skills and have a great understanding of commercial marketing activities to clearly articulate and represent the School’s brand to stakeholders and the general public. A strong grasp of computer skills, digital platforms and virtual communication tools will assist in managing the database, website and social media.
This is a varied role but key responsibilities include:

Managing the Marketing department, database and budget

Producing brochures and marketing collateral, managing in-house events and managing the website and social media to raise the School’s profile and promote student recruitment

Managing and leading the internal communication within the School

Marketing the School’s productions and public events.
