  • For a leading Asia Pacific documentary not-for-profit organisation
  • The candidate must be a NZ citizen/resident or have a valid working visa
  • Start date: February 2022 (for 11 months)

Doc Edge is a not-for-profit charitable organisation that promotes documentary film and filmmaking. It is a national organisation for the documentary and digital storytelling sectors based in Auckland.   

Doc Edge delivers programmes and events throughout the year including the annual Oscar-qualifying international Documentary Film Festival, Industry and Schools Programmes as well as a year-round on-demand platform. 

Doc Edge Industry creates opportunities for learning and advancement for emerging and established filmmakers working in the creation and delivery of factual content. It brings together local and international film, TV and interactive media professionals around a programme of events and networking opportunities through: 

Doc Edge Forum, an event that brings together local and international film, TV and other media professionals. It offers seminars, panels, masterclasses, networking opportunities; 

Doc Edge Pitch, a documentary pitching forum for short and feature films and TV series; 

Doc Edge Clinics, a professional development programme for filmmakers; 

Doc Edge Market, an online marketplace for industry professionals to find NZ and Asia-Pacific content 

 Doc Edge is a COVID-19 compliant organisation. All staff members are required to be fully vaccinated. 



Doc Edge is looking for a confident experienced person with excellent writing, digital and communication skills to engage with the screen industry, run the annual Doc Edge Industry Programme including the coordination of industry events and the promotions of registrations/memberships.  



  • Event production, coordination, and administration experience 
  • Knowledge of the NZ and international documentary screen industry 
  • Excellent research, analytical and writing skills 
  • Familiarity with MS Office, Survey Monkey and CRM (Salesforce) 
  • Experience with online delivery including Zoom Webinar and live streaming 
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team 
  • Ability to think outside the box 
  • Effective planning skills, along with attention to details 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, tight deadlines and to work effectively under pressure 
  • A high level of self-motivation and enthusiasm 
  • Sound practical understanding of modern Workplace Health & Safety Principle 
  • Uphold personal honesty and integrity and be an ambassador for Doc Edge 
  • Experience working in a not-for-profit is ideal but not essential 



  • Assist management with the Industry Programme 
  • Coordinate industry guests and volunteers 
  • Foster relationships with other industry organisations, guilds, filmmakers, funders and others 
  • Assist the Sales and Customer Relations Manager to increase attendance and memberships 
  • Support the promotion and marketing of industry events 
  • Support established partnerships and create new partnership channels  
  • Keep the industry database updated on the CRM 
  • Attend industry-related events as agreed with management  
  • Act as the contact person for general inquiries relating to Industry 
  • Write reports as required
