Opus Orchestra is the professional orchestra for the Waikato and Bay of Plenty. We strive to bring exceptional orchestral performances to audiences across our region, enriching lives and contributing to vibrant arts communities. Established in 1991, Opus Orchestra performs regularly in Hamilton, Tauranga, and Rotorua, bringing live music to people throughout the region and providing stimulating performance opportunities for local musicians.
We are looking for talented and passionate people to join our Board. We are particularly interested in recruiting trustees with the following experience or skills:
- Financial management
- Marketing and/or public relations
- Executive management
Previous not-for-profit governance experience is desired but is not as important as a passion for our work and the desire to make a positive contribution. We are interested in hearing from people with a range of skills, not just those highlighted above. We can offer training and support where necessary.
Trustees commit to attending Board meetings six times a year (usually held by Zoom on Tuesday evenings) and an annual strategy day. We also ask Trustees to contribute to one or more of our committees, and to attend concerts and events when possible.
