BATS Theatre, an iconic Wellington arts institution, is looking for a keen Marketing and Communications Coordinator.

In this newly created role you will work closely with our current Marketing and Communications manager to execute BATS’ Marketing and Communications strategy.

This is an ideal role for someone looking to up-skill in marketing and communications, a new graduate or someone looking to change careers.

 

POSITION DIMENSIONS

The position of Marketing and Communications Coordinator is a full time, 35-40 hour a week role. 

Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager the main focus of this role will be to execute the BATS marketing and the marketing of the co-ops (who present shows at BATS) as effectively as possible. You will also assist in keeping our website up-to-date and generating new ideas in the marketing and communications department.

KEY DUTIES / MAJOR TASKS

Marketing and Communications 

  • Work with the core team on strategic development
  • Develop, maintain and execute the BATS Marketing Plan alongside M & C Manager
  • Develop, maintain and execute the BATS Social Media Plan alongside M & C Manager
  • Develop, maintain and execute the BATS Audience Relationship Strategy
  • Maintain and update the BATS website
  • Work with the Chief Executive and Marketing and Communications Manager on BATS’ marketing
  • Provide sign off of posters, flyers and other collateral by BATS’s artists and ensure it meets brand guidelines.
  • Support promotion of seasonal submission opportunities
  • Develop and maintain marketing strategies to meet the objectives of BATS alongside M & C Manager
  • Evaluate customer research, the theatre ecology, and implement marketing plan alterations as needed
  • Assist with all marketing, advertising and promotional activities undertaken by staff
  • Deliver all marketing activity within the agreed budget
  • Write and send BATSmail and other EDMs alongside M & C Manager

 

Audience Development

  • Execute Audience Relationship Strategy as set out by the Chief Executive and the Marketing and Communications Manager
  • Surveying - Collecting data from audiences through various methods
  • Pulling key insights from reports to assist in future audience outreach

 

Additional Duties

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible, alongside all BATS Theatre Staff, for keeping an organised and tidy venue, whenever possible. This includes, but is not limited to, organisation of the BATS Theatre Office, Kitchen spaces and theatre spaces.
