We’re looking for enthusiastic, energetic and attentive individuals to join our team of Hosts.

When Wellington puts on a show, we want it to be experience our guests will always remember, which is why your job is so important! As a host, you’ll be the friendly face that ensures our guests feel welcome and comfortable in our venues.

When guests have a question, whether it’s about the show, city, bar or the bathroom – they’ll come to you. So we need someone who will go above and beyond to ensure our customers have the best experience in our venues.

Due to this being an event based role, this is a casual position with shifts on an ‘as required’ basis, with the majority of shifts being in the evenings. Our events vary from the ballet, big concerts, small gigs through to conferences and everything in between.

Your key responsibilities will include:  

  • Welcome guests into the venues, examining and scanning ticket on entry.
  • Help guests to find their seats, catering, bathrooms or other amenities.
  • Work with the Host Team, Host Team Leader and Venue manager to help solve problems when required.
  • Act as safety ward in the event of an emergency and help to mitigate any health and safety risks to yourself and others.

 The ideal person will bring to the role and team:  

  • A positive, customer focused attitude and willingness to help.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to relate to a wide range of people.
  • A calm and composed demeanour with the ability to respond in changing circumstances.
  • Energy and enthusiasm with the physical ability required for the role – e.g. comfortably walk up stairs and stand for long periods of time.
  • The ability to work evenings and weekends.
